Peer pressure 同侪压力 ...
I think no child is immune to
peer pressure and
It is tough for us as not so well-to-do parents
...
my 13 year old's classmates
are born into rich families
get to travel around the world
in every school break,
the next break in a months time for just a week,
some of his friends are going to Japan,
New Zealand, France Disneyland.
Some of them upgrade for every iPhones version
and Digital gadgets several times a year.
... and I myself have never had an iPhone,
so my son has to do with a cheaper phone.
...
For a Malaysian family to travel to these places
costs $20,000 - $40,000 ringgit per trip which is
many times at least 4 - 6 months income for most parents,
of course those parents are filthy rich who can afford it

That Old Familiar Taste 旧旧的味道 ...
咖啡的甜味与苦味
kā fēi de tián wèi yú kǔ wèi
my familiar sweet and bitter taste of bitter
...
An Old Coffee shop still brewing the same old taste
for as long as I know,
but the market where it is located at
will be torn down soon
to make way for "progress"
...
I find time to take a sip of this old taste
before this familiar taste
is gone forever

The wok of fury 愤怒的铁锅 ...
檳城 "炒粿條"
The Penang "Char Keow Teow"
...
Preparing a plate of flat, white rice noodles is
an art form that has been perfected here
by the generations of migrants from china in Penang.
Stir-fried in a huge wok, the rice noodles
are skillfully tossed with
prawns, egg, chinese sausage, cockles,
bean sprouts and a sprinkle of chives.

How many Ten Years do we have in our life 人生有几多少个十年 ...
顺其自然
shùn qí zì rán
Let nature takes its course
...
It is already february and
It is already february and
I have never made any resolutions,
and I never thought about it until just now...
Thinking back,
I have done a whole lot of things before 40
including a Master and a PhD
and
I worked in the factory for 10 years,
before moving into Full time Consulting/Training for 10 years,
Last I was doing Freelance Consulting/Training for now the 8th year,
what next when the 10th year comes,
Let's just wait and see
