我們祈禱是因為我們貪婪 We Pray because we are Greedy ...

When we did wrong, we pray for forgiveness;
When we are sick, we pray for health;
When we are poor, we pray for money;
When we are wealthy, we pray for more money;
When we are afraid of death, we pray for a seat in Heaven

Spring & Autumn Pavilions 春秋閣 ...

Two massive pavilions dedicated to

Kuan Kung (the God of War),
named "the Spring and Autumn Pavilions"
were completed in 1951.
...
According to legend, Guanyin (the Goddess of Mercy)
appeared above the clouds riding on a dragon,
signifying that believers must erect an image
depicting this event between pavilions of summer and autumn:
The present-day structures are a result of this vision.

Story of the town of Nine Sets (Jiufen) 九份 ...

Facing the sea, with mountains surrounding it,
there were only nine families at Jiufen
in the Ching Dynasty.
Therefore, when they purchased daily necessities from the outside,
they just needed nine sets (Jiufen).
...
From then on, people used the name Jiufen (九份) for this place.
For a long time, Jiufen preserved its simple atmosphere,
although it was very prosperous once because of gold mining.
During the Japanese colonization period,
Fushan Temple at Jiufen had become the
 biggest Tu Ti Kung temple (土地公庙)
Kuan Kung (關公), the god that guards over business,
 became the prominent God here.
