槟城大宝森节的辉煌 ...

January 19th, 2011 Penang Thaipusam (3)
槟城大宝森节 ...

07:20 am
I walked further up the road where the chariot is heading towards,
more devotees were eagerly waiting for its arrival ...

07:24 am
As the chariot with Lord Murugan on it arrives on another section of the
same road, it will stop again ...

07:28 am
To bless the offerings devotees bring to Lord Murugan ...

07:35 am
That is why the chariot takes more then 12 hours to reach the Waterfall Road
from little india as it stops frequently to bless the eager and waiting devotees ...

07:37 am
I missed to "coconut smashing ceremony", as before the chariot passes
through, all roads will be cleansed by the coconut water ...
This is done for the entire 12 - 14 hour journey ...

07:38 am
All along the road, the blessed offerings are welcomed
by family members regardless of young or old ...

07:42 am
This is what will be happening for the entire spiritual journey ...

07:44 am
Here it passes through one of the Chinese temple in Goergetown ...

07:47 am
I got an opportunity to witness this view from the
3rd floor of an opened fire station ...

07:48 am
Many devotees will accompany the chariot to Waterfall Road
for the entire spiritual journey ...

07:51 am
The two sacred animals, and don't worry as you can see
devotees are pushing the chariot from the back for the
journey ...

07:52 am
As this road ends, the procession continue to another road
and it is only the first hour of the 12 - 14 hours spiritual journey ...
