出生并生活在一个穆斯林国家 Born and Live in a Muslim Country ...
My grandfather and father migrated to this country
before world war II, and I was born in the 60s,
it is never easy for a Chinese living in a country
of not your native langugage and predominantly a minority,
we don't learn the history of China but instead history of a foreign land,
to be honest we all pretend to celebrate chinese festivities but never knew what there really mean,
I have come to terms with all these of being a migrant Chinese
after living in this country for 50 years.
On the dinner table, though I still insist my bowl and chopsticks,
but I don't mind eating with my hands or cutleries,
at home we insist our children to learn the Chinese Language
but I never insist them to use a bowl nor chopsticks on the dinner table;
as a Chinese,
I think we all work hard to make a living and adapt to wherever we were born.,
and I think I am kind of proud of that.

Alone in the light 独自在光里 ...
The light of the morning sun
Washes through my eyes
Alone I watch in solitude
The stillness of my surroundings
Except for the breeze ripples on the surface of the pond
...
The shimmer of Gods light
shining on the beauty of ITs creations
In this place where I am
So much beauty can be found
The memories I will cherish
in a photograph I took

Reflections 反思 ...
Things change and go by so fast
that we hardly have the time to
look into a mirror
...
Sometimes I can barely
remember my own reflection
in the mirror
...
I can feel all the sensation of crying
but without any tears
just

I can feel all the sensation of crying
but without any tears
just
Who am I

For the love of cooking 做饭是一种爱的艺术 ...
Bringing my family to visit our Mother-in-law's means good food awaiting for us.
She happily prepares our favorite dishes. This time around, one of the central ingredient of the dish must be onions; as she prepares lots of them.
And those onions plus other spices which I don't know goes mixing together in a blender. The pungent aroma really gives a good kick in the nose when the cover of the blender opens to reveal the mixture.
... and the sacrifice .....
All those spices comes from this humble "non-refrigerated" storage cabinet. I still remember these cabinets in our home 40+ years ago when refrigerator are only reserved for the wealthy.
... if you like curry, you will like this one ....
