the REAL and the NOT REAL 在真实与不真实之间 ...
What is REAL or NOT REAL is often always based of our own individual perception ...
The life and death of this begger in the streets of Melaka is certainly never noticed ....
and he begs for a mere few $ for his meal of the day ....

.... Strolling on the banks of Melacca River in the City near China town in the evening, you find these kinds of scenes. Wish I had more evenings here in Melacca. I think the night scenes with the lights on especially when there is a night market on Friday and Saturday at Jonker's street would be fun.

I like the China Town of Melacca, it seems for me at every corner; you can find something special to photograph. Even different times of the day, you should have a different experience as the activities changes throughout the day. To my surprise, it is quite clean for Malaysia standards.
I am very glad that at least some of the culture and heritage is kept as it is.

The Old Melacca 旧马六甲 ...

This is the entrance to a cultural museum of the Ming Dynasty's Admiral Cheng Ho who visited Melacca at least five times during his famous seven voyages to the Western Ocean (Southeast Asia, Indian Ocean, Middle East and Africa). According to some writings, Admiral Cheng Ho set up a huge warehouse complex along the northern side of the Melacca River. Thus far, sadly, there has been no serious research and investigation done on this fascinating topic.

Melacca riverine 马六甲河两岸 ...

.... Shops in Melacca at the China town just next to the riverine perhaps opens after 9 or 10am. The Melacca river with the old houses are very beautiful when at sunrise. In the evening sunset, there are more activities going on and you get different photography opportunities here. You will find many nationalities (visitors) strolling on the banks of the rivers in the evening....

In the evening sunset, there are more activities going on and you get different photography opportunities here. ..... I had an idea to do this shot using B&W but I retained the color version for this posting here. The vibrant colors under the morning sun seems to have a lot more "kick" for this hawker stall in my opinion compare the B&W version of it. It is about 8:00am with quite a bit of sun on the shop houses, only the temples and eateries are open at this hour.

..... The Sepia tones on these old houses were fitting for me, lots of these kinds of scenes in the China town area which is just several rows of shops. The temples are very inviting for photographing whether it is Chinese temple, Indian temple, or the Mosque. So much to photograph within a small area of the China town. Unfortunately, my 3 hours from 7 to 10am around China town; I don't find too many activities going on, It could be because it was a Saturday or maybe activities only begin in the afternoon.

.... I was really looking for a spot to create a Old house on the Melacca river, the contemporary building still creeps in among the trees ! I shot this just opposite St. John's church. I believe it will be a wonderful place to photograph during the Chinese New year when there is a lot of red color decorations.
