Brinchang Night Market 金马仑槟林樟山夜市 ...

Nov 26, 2010
Brinchang night market, Cameron Highlands ...

Brinchang is one of the tourist town of Cameron Highlands.
The town of Brinchang is located some 70 kilometres to the northeast of Tapah
which is accessible from the old Tapah - Cameron Highlands route,
passing by Ringlet, Habu andTanah Rata.
Today, it is much better to use the new access road from
Simpang Pulai to get to Brinchang through Kg Raja and Blue Valley.

Brinchang emanates a big town atmosphere commonly witnessed in
lowland urban areas of Peninsula Malaysia.
It is decidedly crowded with people, cramped with queuing cars and trucks going up
especially in the holidays ...

We stayed in a hotel in Brinchang town, and a formal dinner is not
necessary as night market (or the locals calls it Pasar Malam)
offers a variety enough for all kinds of taste buds ...

The night market starts as early as 6 pm ...

One of the best sweet patato I ever tasted is grown right here
in the Highlands ...

These small "Malay Pancakes" filled with "Local Kaya"
and coconut are really a local delight ...

Of course, the Cameron Strawberries dipped in chocolate ...

This one is familiar everywhere in Malaysia,
it is puffy with sweet Kaya inside ...

I am not sure you even taste honey like this as
they are several famous bee farms here ...

It is very very sweet ...

And with the cooler temperature at night in Cameron Highlands,
although perhaps tonight barely 25 degree Celsius,
these juicy barbecued chicken is my favorite ...

All of these are gone soon after it gets off
from the fire ...

Not just the food, but a whole street of clothing vendors ...

and you know what ...
those faked items ...

and lots of strawberry everywhere ...
